The family received friends for visitation from 1 p.m. until service time Sunday at the church.

John Michael “Moe” Thomas, a lifelong resident of Richland Parish and a charter member of Life Church, was born August 15, 1951, in Monroe, to the union of the late Mary Louise “Dee Dee” Thomas and the late Calvin Lewis Thomas. He went to be with his Lord and Savior September 22, 2024, in Rayville. 

Those meeting Moe in heaven were his parents; his brother, Jim Thomas and his, wife Barbara; a cousin, Linda Carr; and a nephew, Patrick Thomas.

An avid sports fan and passionate outdoorsman, Moe found joy in the thrill of the game and the serenity of nature. He was a devoted “Moe Daddy” who loved nothing more than watching his grandsons play sports. 

He attended every game and supported them with unwavering enthusiasm and love.

He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Connie, who cared for him with unconditional love and devotion; his daughters, Michelle Thomas Rainwater and Matt, Julie Hulin Goyne and Heath, Jamie Hulin Ellis and Josh, and Jennifer Hulin Crawford and Chris; grandchildren, Hudson, Parker and Harper Rainwater, Trae and Mariann Long, Lynleigh Ellis, Deanna Oliver, Jessica Cupp and Logan, and Rebekah and Luke Crawford; brother, Bob Thomas and Donna; and many beloved family members and friends.
