Charlene Silk McCowin

Graveside services for Betty Charlene Silk McCowin, 92, of Rayville, were held at 11 a.m., Thursday, September 5, 2024, at the Antioch Cemetery, Rayville,  with Bernadette Rainbolt officiating under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville.

Mrs. Betty was born March 17, 1932, in Rayville,and passed away Monday, Sept. 2, 2024, in Rayville.

She was preceded by her daughter, Laurel C. Nichols; siblings, Thomas Silk, Norman Silk, Jimmy Silk, Albion D. Silk, Melvin Silk, Richard Silk, Shelby Silk, Betty Lee Silk, Virginia McAlister, and Mary Ann Silk; and special friend, Pete Nance.

Survivors include her daughter, Bernadette “Bernie” Rainbolt and husband, John, of Rayville; grandchildren, Amber Hales, Catherine Lowe and husband, Rick, and Taylor Nichols and wife, Lisa; great grandchildren, Jonathon Naron, Ashlyn Lawhorn, Acie “Trae” Lawhorn, Emmett Lowe, Isa Nichols, Sophia Nichols and James Taylor Nichols; great-great-grandchild, Declan Benoit; and numerous nieces and nephews.
