Mrs. Evelyn was born on September 2, 1938, in Rayville, and went home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 13, 2025, after a lengthy illness.

She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. Evelyn loved her family deeply and was always happiest when spending time with them. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Evelyn will leave behind a legacy of love, warmth, and inspiration. May this bring her loved ones comfort in the days to come.

Evelyn is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years who passed just nine days prior, William E. Dark; parents, Robert Freeland and Annie Cade Freeland; brothers, H.J. Freeland, Vernon Freeland and Carl Freeland; and sisters, Marjorie Freeland Wiggins and Juanita Freeland Bizzell.

Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Randall Dark and wife, Karen, of West Monroe, and Sherri Elmore and husband, Jody, of West Monroe; grandson, Colby Dark; and beloved nieces, nephews, and loved ones.
