Funeral services for Sheriff Gary Lynn Gilley, 66, of Archibald, were held Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at the Mangham Baptist Church, Mangham,with Bro. Rick Aultman, Bro. Brian Rogers, and Bro. John Jones officiating.
Interment was in the Lynn Cemetery, Archibald, under the direction of Brown-Holley Funeral Home, Rayville.
Gary was born August 24, 1958 in Rayville, and he passed away at St. Francis Medical Center Saturday, December 14, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.
Sheriff Gilley was a highly respected law enforcement officer not only in Richland Parish, but in the entire community of North Louisiana. Sheriff Gilley was a law enforcement officer for nearly 30 years. He was preceded in death by his father, Jule Gilley.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Judy Gilley of Archibald; daughters, Krystal Gilley Casey and husband, Brandon, of Mangham, and Jennifer Gilley Gill and husband, Colby, of Mangham; grandchildren, Kalynn Fleming, Kaylie Gill, Kinsley Fleming, Kyndall Gill, Cole Casey, Colt Casey and Colby Casey; mother, Ida Brunson Gilley; sisters, Donna Gilley Strong and husband, Joey, and Lisa Gilley Wilson and husband, Mark; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Neal Harwell, Joey Williams, John “JT” Thomas Searcy, Jeffery Hesser, Alan Cupp and Randy Swain.
Honorary pallbearers are Charlie Smart, Glenn Smart, Brent Smart, Wayne Smart, Joey Strong, Gary Allen Nobles, all of Richland Parish Sheriff’s Offi ce, and all of Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office.
The family would like to give a special thank you to his “personal doctor” Terri Klick.
Visitation was 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at the Mangham Baptist Church, Mangham.
