To the Editor:
In America certain people and events are celebrated and honored.
Special days are used to honor those people. In May, it is Mother’s Day, in June it is Father’s Day. Why Mother’s Day comes first is a good question. In the Holy Bible it states man was made first. Woman was made because man was lonely. She was made with extra ribs from man and left over clay. I have been told that the reason man was made first was so that woman could be made perfect. But, given the loving emotions of man, he allowed her to be honored first. As the saying goes “last should be first.”
A bigger population of certain classifications of people exist, those being brother’s and sister’s. In the world brotherhood and sisterhood are well documented. The military has “brother’s in arms,” the legal system has “brothers in blue” and many private orders have “brothers and sisters” classification.
The biggest is written in the Holy Bible. The Brotherhood of Jesus and Sisterhood of Jesus are well known. When more than one person joins with another for a single cause, then they are brothers in that cause.
Being Native American, as a kid I made many “Blood Brothers” by sharing blood to fellow friends to become real blood brothers. A bond that is enhanced as more join the brotherhood for a single cause.
We have not shared blood, but have shared common causes. This prompts the osmoses of togetherness and mental spirit for a cause.
That cause is keeping me, Carl Wayne Howell Sr., alive. In doing so you have fulfilled the only human act needed to arise to the brotherhood, that is “caring for your fellow man.” With that you increased the Fold of Brothers and Sisters that are linked to Carl. Your concern and professional manner prove that “goodness and heart” dwells inside you, both are needed to be a “brother.”
With this I declare that hence forth the Sunday after Mother’s Day will be Sister’s Day and the Sunday after Father’s Day be Brother’s Day. This will promote more closer and interactions of all people for a good and loving cause. As written, “united we stand” and “together we can build a better world.”
Using that logic, with great pride and unquestionable honor, this is the First Brother’s Day Card that is issued to my brother, friend and inspirational human, Richard Calvell. Your Sister in Spirit, my wife, also agrees with these writings. So, your family has grown without any pain.
I, we, are willing to share blood with you to fulfi ll the requirements of real blood brother and sister on your request. This we leave up to you.
By the Grace of God go I, but by the Brotherhood of Man I am able to stand.
Happy Brother’s Day.
Carl Wayne Howell Sr. Pioneer
