April 30 is deadline for Get it Growing

The last day to submit photos for the LSU AgCenter’s 2026 Get It Growing calendar is coming up in the next few weeks.

The deadline to submit an entry is April 30.

The project coordinator, Elma Sue McCallum, said AgCenter faculty will choose about 40 photos for the calendar.

“The Get It Growing calendar is a popular source for gardening tips and beautiful photos of flowers, plants and gardens,” McCallum said. “The calendar has become a popular holiday gift and a yearly resource for gardeners.”

The AgCenter is looking for Louisiana photographers, professional and nonprofessional, to submit their best photos of gardens and other local flora.

“We encourage photographers to submit up to 25 of their best full-color photos of lawns, gardens, flowers, trees and vegetables,” Mc-Callum said.

From the photos that are selected, 12 will be used as full-page images on each month’s page in the calendar, and one will be used on the cover. The other photos will be used intermittently throughout the calendar.

Photographers whose images are selected to run full page will receive five copies of the calendar, and their names will be included with their photos. Other contributors will receive two copies of the calendar and will also have their name listed with their photo.

Entries must be high-resolution, digital images and submitted online at http:// www.LSUAgCenter.com/ GetItGrowingCalendar. Images must be the original work of the submitting photographer.

Submission guidelines can be found at http://lsuagcenter. com/gigcc.

The 2025 edition of the calendar, a showcase of photos, monthly gardening tips, how-to information and other items based on Louisiana’s climate zones, is on sale now online at www.LSUAgCenter.com/ OnlineStore and garden centers.
