On a dark stormy morning on March 15, 27 Delhi Charter School students chose to give up their Saturday morning to travel to Louisiana Tech to participate in the district literary rally.
These are the true heroes of this generation— those who are motivated to go out of their way to better themselves and their school.
The Delhi Charter School faculty and staff wants to commend all of those students for their determination and dedication.
The following students placed and non-district only winners will compete at the state literary rally held on April 12 in Baton Rouge.
Moving on to the state rally are Slayter Blake, who placed second in English literature and Natalie Clark, who placed ninth in Spelling 9.
Also placing in the district rally were first place winners Raeleigh Comeaux in journalism, Claudia Sanchez in Spanish II, Hunter Scarborough in English III and Garrett Clark in business computer applications. Second places winners Quinn Mitchell in advanced math-pre calculus, Preston Ezell in Agriscience I, Ewan Toby Young in environmental science and Julia Kate Pylant in fine arts survey. Third place winners Ava Hasty in Algebra II, Kesen Simms in biology and Abbygail Maynard in chemistry.
District and state literary rallies, sponsored by LHSRA, are academic competitions that provide an opportunity for Louisiana students to achieve recognition for their academic and performance talents.
