Lewis, Lord and Stoffer entertain Saints Alive

Lewis, Lord and Stoffer entertain Saints Alive
Dr. Seuss week at Start Elementary Start Elementary School students ended Sr. Suess week on March 7 by making green eggs and ham.

Saints Alive, a ministry of First Baptist Church, met on March 3.

This month’s gathering was opened by our president, Judy Slayter.

Prayer requests were received, and prayer was then offered by Pastor Roger Stoffer. The birthday honorees for March were also congratulated and first time visitors acknowledged.

As expected, the theme was Saint Patrick’s Day, and the decor reflected that. The menu featured pulled pork with many wonderful side dishes and desserts to tempt the attendees.

The special event of the evening was a concert by the Rev. Gerald Lewis. He has been the pastor of Swartz Assembly of God since 1966.

He is also well-known as the first cousin of Jerry Lee Lewis and Mickey Gilley. He grew up with them and another cousin, Jimmy Swaggart.

He was accompanied by Jeannie Foster Lord as well as Roger Stoffer and his very talented band.

Saints Alive meets during the months of October through May. Anyone 55 or over is invited to join. There are no dues for this calendar year.

The meetings feature delicious meals, wonderful Christian entertainment/ ministry and the best fellowship ever.

Next month’s meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. on April 1. The musical guests will be The Picketts.
