Police Report

Rayville Police Chief Markus Turner announced the Rayville Police Department made the following arrests from Dec. 29 to Jan.

The Rayville Police Department issued a total of 29 traffic citations this week. That number includes 13 for speeding, three for no proof of insurance, two for expired mvi over 6 months, failure to yield and no driver’s license and one each for expired license plate, following too close, switched license plate, red light violation, failure to carry registration, failure to yield with an accident and careless operation.

Criminals arrests were made for obstruction of roadway, indecent exposure, disobedience to a police offi cer (two counts), no driver’s license, resisting arrest (two counts), driving under suspension, disturbing the peace by fighting, disturbing the peace, misrepresentation during booking, disturbing the peace by loud music, remaining after being forbidden, disturbing the peace simple drunk (two counts), public intoxication, simple battery and no driver’s license.

One juvenile was charged with theft of less than $100 and vehicle burglary.

Chief Turner urges citizens to exercise caution when using heating equipment during these cold days. He emphasized it is easy for fires to ignite and potentially damage our homes. Please don’t hang fabrics near heaters. Always use adequate electrical outlets.
