DCS robotics team wins LSUA excellence award

DCS robotics team wins LSUA excellence award
DCS team members Logan Patty, Hunter Scarborough, Avindi Thomas, Lisa Wright and Slayter Blake receive their Excellence Award from event coordinator David Saucier.

The Delhi Charter School Robotics team, The Vidreams, beat out 32 other teams to take home the Excellence Award at the LSUA New Years New Gears robotics tournament on Jan. 14.

The Excellence Award is the highest honor given in a VEX Robotics Competition, recognizing a team that demonstrates exceptional overall quality in their robotics program, showcasing strong performance across multiple award categories, including design, engineering notebook, robot skills, and overall team conduct, essentially signifying a wellrounded and high-performing robotics team across all aspects of the competition.

This is the third award the Vidreams have earned so far this season.

The DCS teams will next compete at LSU in Baton Rouge on Jan. 25. DCS is also hosting a junior high and elementary tournament on Feb. 1. Later in February, the high school teams will compete in their first ever signature event at the Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, TN, before returning to Baton Rouge for the state championship at the end of February.
