The Delhi Charter team 8892A, the Vidreams, took home the coveted Design Award at the Region 4 STEM Center Tech the Halls robotics tournament on Dec. 7 in Opelousas.
This award qualifies the Vidreams to compete at the state championship in Baton Rouge this February.
The Vidreams allied with their sister team 8892R, The Oreos, to progress all the way to the final match of the elimination rounds, but were ultimately defeated by an alliance of two teams from Covington High School.
Delhi Charter junior high team 88892Z, OG Gators, earned the Create award on Dec. 13 at the LSUA Friday the 13th Robotics Tournament in Alexandria.
The Create award is given to the team with the most innovative robot design, and qualifies the OG Gators to compete at the state championship in Baton Rouge. The OG Gators performed well in other areas of the tournament as well, earning 3rd place in both the skills and teamwork challenge categories. This was the junior high and elementary teams first tournament of the season.

on Feb. 1. The Feb. 1 tournament is free to the public, so anyone interested in robotics please come out and cheer on your favorite Gator teams
