Holly Ridge Happenings

Oh Lord, when I weary, please help me each and every day: to count my blessing and not my crosses; to count my gains and my losses; to count my laughs and not my tears; to count my joys and not my fears; to count my health and not my wealth; and most of all to count on God and not myself.

Here on Friday evening were Steven and Stacy McCowin Cardell from West Monroe. Yes, Stacy had to tell me who she was because it had been years since I last saw her. She knew me because she remembered this “ole mug” at the store. It was so good to remember back when with her. Also here on Friday was Carol Little, her daughter, Trish, and husband, Daryl, all from West Monroe. We visited for a while.

Sue Cobb Lafayette had been here with Jerry and Diane Cobb while she was cleaning the deer stands for her brother, “Inky.” She enjoyed  being here and getting ready for hunting season. Can’t wait to kill that buck.

Driving down to Baton Rouge on Saturday were Tyler and Ashley Cheek, Carter and Aiden, to attend the L.S.U. - Florida Gators game. Very good game and they did enjoy it.

Mirror Mirror on the Wall

It doesn’t matter if I’m short or tall, if I have skinny legs or my hips are wide. It only matters who I am inside. Blue eyes, brown eyes, black or green, what make me beautiful cannot be seen. When you look at me don’t judge me by my parts. The most beautiful thing about me is in my heart.

Happy birthday this week to Douglas Thompson and Sue Holley on Oct. 21, Ronni Patrick, Chloe Morgan and Eric Payne on Oct. 22, Joanna Franklin, Jeff Sharplin and Corbine Cater on Oct. 23, Ellen Vaughn Davis, Kathy Self, Kenny Higdon, Sandy Stanley and Alexa Clack on Oct. 24, Hal Senn and Dannie Lee on Oct. 25, Stanley Fortenberry on Oct. 26 and Garrett Mosley, Shelby Brock and Jordan Stanley on Oct. 27. May these celebrate many more happy ones.

Anniversary wishes to my Jeannie and Jack Green on Oct. 23. May they celebrate many more years together.

Have a great week. Please call and share.

Remember: Sometimes you fail terribly in life, but even then God loves you and He needs you. Let no failure or sin keep you away from God.From one end of the Bible to the other, God assures us that He will never go back on His promises.
